Hey there. I know it has been a while. Sorry! Just started working on Little Fockers. Great to be back with the cast, Mr. DeNiro, Mr. Wilson et al. Shooting in Chicago, which is really fun. Wish we could shoot the whole movie here.

Also had a chance to attend the Clinton Global Initiative in NY. A VERY educational exper...ience. Alot of people coming together to work on issues affecting all of us. I got a chance to meet some very committed people working to eradicate poverty and disease, and get our world economy focused on clean technology and renewable energy sources. To see giant corporations acknowledging the need to move away from carbon based energy in a real way was very encouraging.

I also got a chance to meet Dr. Paul Farmer, who is the UN's Deputy Envoy to Haiti. He has done incredible work there and around the world with his Partners In Health organization --

Which is changing the model for how to get health care for people in challenged areas of the world. This guy is amazing. Please check out what they are doing.

Ok -- sorry for the long winded message. I will attempt to check in more regularly.

In 2005, President Clinton established CGI to turn ideas into action and to help our world move beyond the current state of globalization to a more integrated global community of shared benefits, responsibilities, and values.

Just heard about the very sad news of Patrick Swayze's passing. He was such a nice, generous man with a fantastic sense of humor. I did a little part a long time ago in one of his films, and I'll always remember how he treated everyone with kindness -- the crew, and us actors who only had small parts-- People he didn'...t have to be nice to. Respect to him and the way he faced the challenges in his life.Visualizza altro

Ben Stiller It's true. Ric O'Barry got them to stop killing dolphins in the Taiji Japan cove that is the subject of the great documentary "the Cove" . AND he got the Japanese press to finally acknowledge it! Incredible.

Editor's Note: This piece was written by guest contributor Richard O'Barry of the Save Japan Dolphins Coalition. As TakePart reported earlier this week,

Ben Stiller My friend sent me this link about the Cove in Taiji Japan that the movie "The Cove" is about. I hope it is true. That would be a great thing.

ecoworldly.com — “Today is September 1st, the first day of the dolphin slaughter season in Japan. But when I arrived today by bus from Kansai Airport with media representatives from all over the world, the notorious Cove from the movie was empty. ...

Ben Stiller Wrote a piece about the late Budd Schulberg with my friend Jerry Stahl.

I guess you could say that our relationship with Budd Schulberg was typical Hollywood: we met him, we liked each other, and in the end, we kind of broke his heart. But that didn't mean we didn't stay friends.

Ben Stiller Our Prez wrote a good op ed peice in the NY Times today explaining the importance of health care reform. It's super complicated issue that I don't pretend to understand fully, but he makes a good case for the importance of making a change. Hope I attached it correctly.

In the end, health care reform isn’t about politics and fear. It’s about changing a system that often works better for the health-insurance companies than it does for millions of Americans.

Ben Stiller This seems to be the accepted sarcasm -_- but T_T is interesting. Sort of Alice Cooper.

I just sent a "tweet" that sad i was on a remote island and "totally disconnecting from the world and dropping off the grid". Most replys were "how can you be off the grid if you are twittering?" Which begs the question... Does irony not really exist in the twitterverse? Or maybe I need an "irony" emoticon. I guess it... would be a face with a "yeah right" look on it. What keys would that be to make that face?Visualizza altro
