The December 2009 SATELLITE Art + Design Exhibition at Miami Art Space and ABBA Fine Art Gallery marks the launch of a global art initiative to showcase artists of all mediums and well-known and emerging designers from all over the world through innovative exhibitions & sophisticated receptions. AroundTown CalenZine will cover our events.

Our mission is to expose great works through events in major cities and via the Internet. With artistic license in hand, Satellite is your new hybrid into the world of
art and design, capturing the images of creative minds and bringing them to you! Our overall event will have many eco-friendly components, exhibits and information to share & educate. Each night we will feature unique and stimulating visual, spoken word, musical and dance performances.

The overall theme for the event is Organica: – A Celebration of the Human Body
and Nature in Art and Design.

In addition to the inclusion of works by artists from the USA, Brazil, Colombia,
Cuba, Greece, Italy, Spain and Slovenia, we will also be featuring a curated
exhibition by Bruce Helander, Reed V. Horth, Paul Fisher and Val Torres. Works will include world-renowned modern and contemporary artists, sculptors, visual and glass artists such as the great Salvador Dali, Diego Rivera, Andy Warhol, Hunt Slonem and Bruce Helander among others. Independent filmmakers will be filming scenes for the movie “Pop goes the Easel” based on Andy Warhol and Peter Max in the 80’s.

Venue 1 Attributes:
A contemporary and innovative space located in the heart of the Wynwood Art District and just west of the Miami Design District with soaring ceilings and cool contemporary touches.

This property consists of two architecturally interesting, air conditioned buildings w/ Wi-Fi and surrounded by a 7,000 sq. ft., lushly landscaped and lighted courtyard w/ an elevated performance area. The entire property is secured by surveillance cameras and monitors along with being enclosed by an 8ft concrete wall with large gate and separate guest entrance in front.
