The Centenary Gala of the Russian Ballets was sponsored by Chanel. A star-studded crowd included Karl Lagerfeld. Festivities began with a film by Lagerfeld, entitled “Sergei, Misia, Coco et Les Autres…100 Ans de Ballets Russes, Chanel et ‘Le Train Bleu'",which was inspired by the historic meeting of Gabrielle Chanel.

For Paris’ high-end toy store, Au Nain Bleu, Karl Lagerfeld created a princess doll and a silk, tulle and lace princess dress to be worn by a little girl which will be sold through next year. Part of the proceeds go to the Carla Bruni-Sarkozy Foundation.

Vivienne Westwood is set to give denim a touch of her punky aesthetic. The designer has collaborated with Lee Jeans to launch a denim collection as part of her Anglomania label. Washes will run from indigo denim to metallic gold- and copper-colored denim to denim printed with a trompe l’oeil lace design.
